The Role Of Ayurveda In Holistic Health & Wellness

The term "The Science of Life" is frequently used to describe Ayurveda. It is more than just a medical field; it is a means of comprehending the cosmos and how it relates to our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. Health and life are not inseparable in Ayurveda. They are linked together.

Food therapy, ordinal therapy, plant science, and specific cleansing techniques known as Panchakarma are employed to re-establish this equilibrium and reject accumulated slags. Panchakarma is originally defined by fasts, baths, in addition to enemas, therapeutic vomiting, and bloodletting, all of which are typically practised in the weakened form in the West. Popular practises include massages, yoga, breathing exercises, colour, music, and Ayurvedic diet.

The individualised approach to medicine used in Ayurveda is one of its unique features. Ayurvedic doctors evaluate each patient's specific constitution and imbalances to create individualised treatment regimens rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Both "Shiro" and "Dhara" refer to the head and a continuous flow, respectively.   • In Potli massage, Warm herbal pouches are used, it is also known as potali or pinda sweda. These bags, known as Potlis, are filled with a mixture of therapeutic herbs, spices, and oils. After being heated, the Potlis are gently massaged over the body, concentrating on certain knots or imbalances.
  • Warm medicinal oils are applied to the body during an Ayurvedic oil massage called abhyanga. The name "Abhyanga" means "loving hands," highlighting the comforting and healing touch of this massage method. It is regarded as one of the foundational Ayurvedic treatments.
